4 MOD Events for $40: Continental Breakfast, Film Screening, Conversation with Architect Tim Seibert and Panel Discussion
Get to know Edward J. Seibert, FAIA, yacht designer, architect, a leader of the Sarasota School of Architecture movement and one of its last surviving members. Now 90, Seibert will be honored with SAF’s Art + Architecture Lifetime Achievement Award at the Friday Opening MOD Party at Hiss Studio.
Enjoy a continental breakfast and mingle with other MOD fans before viewing the documentary about Seibert’s life and work, “The Seibert Effect,” with an introduction by Historic Preservationist Lorrie Muldowney, AICP, Assoc. AIA.
Following the screening, AIA Florida President Joyce Owens, AIA, RIBA will have a conversation with Tim Seibert about his careers, both as an award-winning architect and a yacht designer, along with keen observations about the contemporary built environment.
The last event of the morning is a discussion about “The Midcentury Modern Phenomenon”. Panelists include architect Carl Abbott, FAIA, Carl Abbott Architects; contractor Pat Ball; architect Michael Epstein, AIA, Seibert Architects; and architect Joyce Owens, AIA, RIBA, Architecture Joyce Owens. The moderator is historian Christine Madrid French.
